At Cepi, we realise that the future is only less than two investment cycles away and that having a clear vision on what’s ahead will be crucial for ensuring the sustainability of industry.
In 2011, as a leading industry Cepi published a 2050 Roadmap to a low-carbon bio-economy. Our 2050 Investment Roadmap outlines a vision on how the European forest fibre and paper industry can lead Europe’s circular bioeconomy transition. Click on the video on the right to find out how we plan on getting there.
In 2020, Cepi released the 2030 Industry Manifesto that takes into account the new adopted targets in the framework of the EU Green Deal: “The Pulp and Paper sector is in a key position to support the EU in becoming fit for 2050. Our sector has several potentials to substantially and sustainably reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In order to achieve these aspirations, the availability of political support will be critical.”
Cepi also plays a leading role in the global sustainability challenge through its membership in the International Council of Forest and Paper Industries (ICFPA). You can learn more about how the global industry is rising up to the challenges of the 21st century in the ICFPA’s latest sustainability report here.
Circular Choices campaign
The Circular Choices campaign aims at promoting the policy and market conditions necessary in the EU to scale-up the circular bioeconomy. Cepi’s campaign brings together 14 EU trade associations that represent providers of renewable products and renewable energy solutions. This coalition is supported by a further six trade associations that represent EU forest owners and managers.
